The Cleveland Orchestra

The Cleveland Orchestra was founded in 1918 and is cosidered as among the most prestigious ensembles in the world. Darius Milhaud, Robert Gerly, Boris Goldovsky, and Pierre Boulez are a few of the many highly acclaimed conductors who have served as the orchestra's Music Director over the years. Currently, the position is held by Franz Welser-Möst, who follows in the footsteps of the legendary George Szell. As one of the top American orchestras today, the Cleveland performs hundreds of concerts annually and has received 20 Grammy Awards for their recordings of both classical and film music. Their ability  to stun audiences time and time again makes them a truly world class group.

Sarah Hicks

Conductor Sarah Hicks, Principal Conductor for the Orchestra Nématon, based in Montreal, and Principal Guest Conductor for the New Mexico Music Festival, has gained immense following due thanks to her soul stirring performances of film music as well as classical music. The evening's program will be a showcase of the greatest themes from the Star Wars and Harry Potter films as well as the most moving from Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. 

The Music of John Williams

The evening will include a variety of works from the renowned film scores by John Williams, including select scores from the Star Wars and Jurassic Park films as well as the music from the Harry Potter films, and more. His masterpieces are consired gold in the world of film music and has influenced and engage audiences across the globe. AJohn Williams is the composer of the film score for the classic movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial as well as the powerful score to Schindler's List for which he won the fifth of his five Academy Awards for Best Original Score. He also has four Academy Awards for Best Original Song as well as four Golden Globes for Best Original Score. At the age of 94 he is still actively composing music, having recently scored many blockbuster releases.
