Let's Misbehave - The Songs of Cole Porter, Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 7:30pm | Blossom Music Center Experience an incredible evening of music at Blossom Music Center on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 as The Cleveland Orchestra presents Let's Misbehave - The Songs of Cole Porter in concert. Acclaimed singer/pianist Tony DeSare joins Music Director of The New York Pops, Steven Reineke, and The Cleveland Orchestra for an evening of American songbook classics when they perform the songs of one of Broadway's greatest composers, Cole Porter. A special concert to honor the music of this American legend will be performed in an unique outdoor setting at Blossom this summer.
The Cleveland Orchestra is among the finest orchestras in North America. In fact, it is currently regarded as one of the "Big Five" in American orchestras. The Cleveland Orchestra has a long history in serving outstanding music. Created in 1918 by Adella Prentis Hughes, an acclaimed pianist, the orchestra has grown into becoming one of the major forces in classical and contemporary music in the country. Currently led by music director, Franz Welser-Möst, the orchestra has won a total of seven Grammy Awards, including four awards for Best Orchestral Performance.
Tony DeSare brings a modern sensibility to the classical pop songs of the early 20th century. His numerous recordings, including Last First Kiss and the acclaimed Sinatra In The Round, display his impressive ability to perform complex songs of the past with feeling, wit and style. The Cleveland audiences have responded to his passionate performances of refined and elegant songs from Porter's catalog. DeSare frequently appears at many of the world's most prestigious venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The White House and others. He has a string of successful recordings and has topped the Billboard jazz charts. He continues to perform the standards of the Great American Songbook in his own fresh and innovative style.
Music by Cole Porter is always fun to perform and to hear and Steven brings a great deal of skill and feeling to his work. The Cleveland Orchestra's Pops Conductor, Steven Reineke is one of the leading pops conductors in the country. As Music Director of The New York Pops, Mr. Reineke has created a body of work that is innovative, exciting and always filled with superior musicianship. His ability to take the greatest songs from the world's greatest musicals and to provide them with the perfect orchestral setting is unparalleled. Whether he is leading a night of Broadway show-stoppers at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater or a concert of great songs from Hollywood films at The Muppets' Hollywood Bowl show, Mr. Reineke always brings a sense of excitement and a keen sense of what makes a great song work. He has conducted most of the major orchestras in North and South America and has written music for a wide range of performers from Kristin Chenoweth to the Muppets. He has also written music for a number of PBS television specials and has a number of recordings available on CD.
Blossom Music Center is an outdoor amphitheater that can accommodate up to 19,000 fans during a full house event. The Cleveland Orchestra holds their summer home at this venue in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The guests can sit in the large grass area or beneath the pavilion. The surround sound at this outdoor venue is some of the best, especially for an orchestra. Throughout the venue, there are many concessions and restrooms for guests. Each section at Blossom has several different seating options in order to give all of the guests the best view of the performance.
